The Minimal Hub provides a centralized interface for installing, updating, and managing all your Minimal Audio plugins and sound content in one place, so you don’t need to download and run individual installers for each product.

Installation

Sign in to the Minimal Hub with your Minimal Audio account to install your plugins and sound content. Once installation is complete, you can close the Minimal Hub. It is not required to remain open for plugin authorization or runtime operation.

You can safely remove the Minimal Hub after installation or retain it in your Applications folder for future plugin management.

Installation Preferences

Global installation settings are available through the gear icon in the Hub header. From here, you can configure:

  • Plugin formats to install

  • Default installation locations

  • Other available installation preferences

These settings are applied to subsequent installations unless overridden by an individual plugin's configuration.

For plugin-specific installation requirements, open the plugin's Properties panel to configure its installation settings independently.

Plugin Management

Each plugin includes a management menu that provides access to its available actions:

  • Install: Installs the selected plugin using the configured installation settings.

  • Reinstall: Removes and reinstalls the selected plugin using the current installation settings.

  • Update: Installs the latest available version.

  • Uninstall: Removes the selected plugin from the system.

The available options may vary depending on the plugin's current installation state.

Automatic Update Detection

The Minimal Hub checks for available plugin updates each time it launches. When a newer version is detected, the update can be installed directly through the Minimal Hub.

Update Permissions

For one-click updates to function correctly, the Minimal Hub must be installed in a location where it has write permissions.

If the Minimal Hub does not have permission to modify its installation directory, the update process will instead prompt you to download the latest version to your Downloads folder.

This behavior does not affect the functionality of previously installed plugins.

Troubleshooting

If an installation or update fails:

  1. Confirm that you are running the latest version of the Minimal Audio Hub.

  2. Restart the Minimal Hub and retry the operation.

  3. Verify that the Hub's installation directory allows the application to write files.

  4. Check the plugin's Properties for plugin-specific installation settings.

  5. If the issue persists, download the latest Hub version from minimal.audio and reinstall it.

Log Files

When troubleshooting installation, update, or Minimal Hub-related issues, the Minimal Hub log file can provide additional diagnostic information.

macOS

When contacting Minimal Audio Support, include the relevant minimal-hub.log file whenever possible, along with the plugin name, Minimal Hub version, operating system, and any relevant error messages.
